PUM19991026SPECIAL PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1999 . The meeting was called to order at 6:50 p.m. by Chairman Sanders. Also present were Committee Members Le Doux and Slocomb, Mayor De Angelis, Clerk -Treasurer Marenda, and Deputy Clerk Blenski to record minutes. It was noted that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. SEWER - UNFINISHED 1 Further discussion on forced connection for the Jones property - Boxhorn, Ryan, Groveway Sewer Project The Mayor presented a brief review of this issue which was deferred from the October 18, 1999 meeting. The committee members requested further information for review. A letter was sent to Mr Jones indicating that the forced hook up costs for his property totaled $15,516.71, with an additional $900 for moving various items if done by the contractor A copy of the letter was provided to the committee with the Mayor noting that the letter did not indicate that there could be additional costs. Mr Jones has signed the documentation acknowledging the total amount due ($16,416.71) and has requested it be levied in five installments. The Mayor further stated that the resolution passed by the Council contained the same dollar amounts and it is his recommendation that no additional amount be assessed to Mr Jones. He will discuss the additional charges with a representative from Ruekert & Mielke. As the committee agreed with the Mayor, it was not necessary for any • further action to be taken. The Clerk -Treasurer left the meeting. 2. Further discussion on Holz Drive Sewer Connections This item was also deferred from the October 18, 1999 meeting. The committee was provided information that indicated the Merz property would be connected to the sewer system shortly. Aid. Slocomb moved to grant an extension of time for the Merz property to connect to sewer until the next scheduled Public Utilities Committee meeting (November 15). Aid. Le Doux seconded; motion carried unanimously. The committee believed the additional time would provide an opportunity for all the necessary inspections to be done. As there was no additional business to come before the committee, Aid. Slocomb moved to adjourn at 6:55 p.m. Aid. Sanders seconded; motion carried.
