MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 23, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman
Sanders. Also present were Committee Members Schneider and
Misko, Mayor Salentine, Ald. Simmons, Ald. Patterson, Utility
Superintendent Kloskowski, City Engineer Steven H. Schultz, and
those per the attached list.
The Committee discussed the status of the following projects:
Hillendale North of Hwy. L Sewer and Water
The Attorneys and City Engineers are working with Contractor.
Highway L West of Crowbar Sewer
Restoration in progress.
Valley/Lions Park Extended Water
The City Engineers are awaiting DNR approval. Upon receipt of
approval, the project will be let for bid.
. Southeast Sewer
Waiting for Preliminary Plat approval.
\ The Committee discussed proposed amendment to Sewer
`.) Ordinance -Sewer User Charges and acknowledged that Ordinance
t #764 will be on for its first reading at the July 28, 1992
meeting. The Committee authorized the City Clerk to continue
j t the past practice of automatically placing the following year's
sewer usage bill on the tax bill.
Mr. Diekfuss a � ppeared before the Committee to discuss his
,,, •-� request for sewer service. The Committee noted that the basin
boundary is set by MMSD. Ald. Misko moved that the Committee
is receptive to an agreement being put together for the
1 Diekfuss, Ludwig and Schaefer properties for the main sewer
'7 extension, at no cost to the city, similar to the Krause
Agreement. Seconded by Ald. Schneider, motion carried.
There has been no reply back from the City Attorney on his
inquiry to the Town of Norway's legal counsel regarding sewer
service for the Denoon Point Estates.
Superintendent Kloskowski reviewed with the Committee a quote
from L. W. Allen, Inc. for a new pump at the Schubring Lift
• Station in amount of $4,478.00. Ald. Sanders moved to approve
expenditure from Equipment Replacement Account
(110.5006.1000). Seconded by Ald. Misko, motion carried.

The Committee discussed the four properties that could feasibly
be connected through the Plum Creek Subdivision' Bishop, Mecca,
Henneberry and Parker. The Developer will be supplying costs
so that Waiver of Assessments can be secured.
The Committee reviewed the list of properties that were part of
recent sewer projects and have gone beyond the mandated
connection date. Ald. Schneider moved to direct the Utility
Superintendent to proceed securing quotes for forced hook-up
for the following properties:
Erwin G. Rupp - W207 S8121 Hillendale (#2229.993)
Louis A. Wilkenson - W207 S8032 Hillendale (#2229.999.001)
Lembezeder-Cook VFW Post - Janesville Rd. (#2232.978)
Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed correspondence from MMSD regarding
sanitary sewer plans for the Stoney Creek Retirement Facility.
The dedication of main or private lateral will be made by the
Developer.
City Engineer Steven Schultz appeared before the Committee to
explain the Water Tower Facility Report which would provide
water service to 360 homes and additional fire protection.
Twenty-four residents from the Hillendale area appeared before
the Committee to voice objection to the high water tower. The
Committee requests that the cost of a 24 ft. high ground
storage tank be secured to discuss at the August 20, 1992
meeting. Site #1 (Wiza property), Site #4 (Field Drive) and
Site #5 (northerly Crowbar site) have been ruled out.
The Committee reviewed list supplied by the Water Utility Clerk
which listed all properties that have not provided the Utility
with a safe water sample. The Committee directed that a letter
be sent to each property owner advising that the test deadline
was July 1st, but the City will give them an extension to
August 15, 1992.
The Committee discussed WCA (Water Capacity Assessment) for the
City Garage. Ald. Schneider moved to waive the WCA charge for
the existing building because the City of Muskego provided the
funds to abandon the well that was supplying backup service to
the Utility.
The Committee reviewed water system for Country Club Villages
and recommend that the Fire Department be contacted for a
recommendation on fire protection.

Mr. Dent appeared before the Committee to discuss possible
request for water service in the northeast section of the
City. He was advised to seek the cooperation of his alderman
and neighbors for the determination as to whether the
properties are in need of water service.
Stan Potrykus appeared before the Committee to discuss the
Kelly Estates (Adam, Pufall, Gratzek) development. Ald.
Schneider moved to approve the water and sewer plans and noted
that the Developer will be supplying cost figures for the
properties that will be offered sewer and water service from
this project. Seconded by Ald. Misko, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 11:50 P.M.
