MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 13, 1990
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M. by Co -Chairman Hilt
and Co -Chairman Simmons. Also present were Committee Member D.
Sanders, Mayor Salentine, Utility Superintendent Scott Kloskowski
and Mr. Ken Purdy.
Mayor Salentine updated the Committee on FLOW and informed the
Committee of the recent PSC ruling. Ald. Hilt moved to defer
payment of 5th FLOW coalition contribution. Seconded by Ald.
Simmons, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the status of the proposed Hwy. L to
Crowbar sewer extension and noted that SEWRPC is awaiting MMSD
approval of plans.
The Committee reviewed the status of the following sewer projects
and noted that the City Engineers are finalizing plans which will
be ready to go out for bids in January:
Woods Road South Sewer Project
Hillendale/Lembezeder/Tans Sewer Project
Hillendale/Lembezeder/Wentland Sewer Project
Hillendale/North of Hwy. L Sewer Project
Attorney Molter has advised that he has not received recent
correspondence from West Lake Estates's attorney regarding the
agreement for the sewer main approval.
The Committee reviewed the status of the Hillendale/North of Hwy.
L water project. The VFW has been contacted and is receptive to
granting necessary easement to the City for the booster pump.
Formal action was taken at the VFW's December meeting.
The Committee reviewed the status of the following water projects
and noted that the City Engineers are finalizing plans which will
be ready to go out for bids in January:
Woods Road South Water Project
Valley View Heights Water Project
The Committee discussed the proposed water project for Racine
Avenue, Sunset Drive, Prospect Drive, Westlyn Drive and Woodland
Place. A letter had been sent to all affected property owners
detailing the costs involved and requesting their response as to
whether or not they were in favor of the project, if they had any
condemned wells, and whether or not they would be willing to
connect if the project became a reality. Out of the 65 mailings,
the City received 37 responses of "no" and 5 responses of
"yes". Ald. Hilt moved to table the project for lack of
interest. Seconded by Ald. Simmons, motion carried.

The City reviewed the Waterworks Facilities Study prepared by the
City Engineers dated November 1990 and placed on file.
Ald. Hilt moved to approve the purchase of 65 water meters at
$300.00 each for a total purchase price of $19,500. Seconded by
Ald. Simmons, motion carried. This item was included in the 1990
borrowing.
Utility Superintendent Kloskowski requested approval of
estabishing and filling a Utility employee position which was
approved in the 1991 Budget. Ald. Simmons moved to recommend
approval. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried.
