RESOLUTION #076-2022
A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE LOCATION
OF POLLING PLACES FOR THE NOVEMBER 2022 ELECTION
WHEREAS, The November election is scheduled for November 8, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 30 of the City’s Municipal Code identifies seven (7) different locations as
polling places for the City’s 16 wards; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Wisconsin Stat. § 5.25, polling places shall be established by the
governing body at least 30 days before the election; in addition, the electors of more than one
ward in the same municipality may vote at a single polling place; and
WHEREAS, On May 24, 2022, Council approved Ordinance #1473 to amend the polling
locations for future elections to be held at City Hall & the Public Library; and
WHEREAS, Although the City property polling locations had been successful in past elections,
the August 9th Partisan Primary Election proved to be somewhat challenging due to the large
turnout and limited parking; and
WHEREAS, To accommodate the anticipated number of voters for the upcoming November
General Election, Lake Point Church and Fox River Church were contacted to determine if there
would be any interest to serve as alternative polling locations; both organizational contacts are
willing to assist and were extremely helpful; and
WHEREAS, If the alternate polling location change is successful, staff will evaluate and may
bring forward an amended Ordinance recommendation for Council approval.
WHEREAS, The City Clerk-Treasurer has recommended that polling locations be changed for
Districts 1, 3 & 5 for the November 8, 2022 General Election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego does
hereby establish Lake Point Church for District 1, Muskego Public Library for District 2, Fox
River Church for Districts 3 and 5, and Muskego City Hall for Districts 4, 6 & 7 as Polling
Locations for the November 8, 2022 General Election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this is a temporary measure and shall not modify the
locations of polling places identified in the City’s Municipal Code.
