PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
July 1, 2003
Muskego City Hall, Muskego Room, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue
For a Conditional Use in accordance with Section 6.03 of the City of Muskego Zoning Ordinance
for the operation of Jetzfuel gasoline service station, located in the SW ¼ of Section 2 (Tax Key
No. 2167.995.011 / Moorland and Janesville Roads.
PRESENT
Mayor Slocomb, Alderman Madden, Commissioners Schaumberg, Brodel, Stinebaugh, Plan
Director Turk and Recording Secretary Asti.
ABSENT
Commissioners Hulbert and Michalski.
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Slocomb declared the Public Hearing open at 7:06 p.m.
Plan Director Turk stated that the petitioner is proposing to construct an 8,800 square foot
structure on the southeast corner of Moorland and Janesville. The structure will house a
gasoline service station and convenience store with car wash, Dairy Queen, Quiznos and
potential to house one other tenant. The proposed car wash will be facing East and West so
the blowers will not interfere with the surrounding residential properties. Owners of the
condominium project are aware of this proposal. This proposal meets all code requirements.
All service stations are required to hold a Public Hearing. The petitioner submitted revised
plans today addressing the outstanding issues. Staff has not had an opportunity to review the
revised plans.
Mayor Slocomb asked for members in the audience to address the Commission with their input
of concerns, questions, comments, etc.
Mr. James Lamb, W161 S7470 Erin Court, addressed the Commission stating he is not
opposed to new businesses in the area, however, feels that there are too many gas stations
along this corridor. Mr. Lamb would like to see this station placed in another section of the
City. He feels that we need to get variety in the City other than gas stations and grocery
stores.
Mayor Slocomb stated this matter would be heard through a resolution at the regular
scheduled meeting later this evening. There being no further questions or comments, the
Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandra S. Asti
Recording Secretary
