Plan Commission Minutes 07-06-99PH-SMSA Ltd PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING HELD JULY 07, 1999, 6:55 P.M. Upon the petition of Milwaukee SMSA Ltd. Partnership for a Conditional Use in accordance with Section 6.03 of the City of Muskego Zoning Ordinance for the purpose of a public utility installation, more specifically the installation of a 150 foot tall monopole-type communications tower and equipment shelter on property currently occupied by an existing 420 foot tall communications tower on the property commonly known as W219 S7278 Crowbar Road. Present were: Mayor De Angelis, Alderman Salentine, Commissioners Gummer, Smith, Schaumberg, Plan Director Turk, and Recording Secretary Asti. Secretary reported that the Public Hearing was properly noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. Mayor De Angelis declared the Hearing open at 7:00 P.M. Plan Director Turk stated that petitioner proposing to construct a 150 foot monopole communications tower. Site permits towers as a conditional use. A 420 foot tower is currently on site. Engineering analysis of existing structure has been submitted indicating current tower cannot hold the needed array. No information provided regarding the equipment shelter’s ability to house colocators. Mayor De Angelis asked the petitioner if he wished to speak on this matter. Attorney Jim Gormley of Foley & Lardner and Mr. Pat Madden, architect, addressed Commission that the existing tower does not meet current cell criteria. Mr. Gormley requested that consideration be given to waive the size of the equipment building. Mr. Madden stated that future expansion of the equipment structure would be to the east to accommodate two additional colocators. Mayor De Angelis asked for members in the audience to address the Commission with their input of concerns, questions, comments, etc. There were none. Mayor De Angelis stated this matter would be heard through a resolution under New Business later this evening.
