PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING
MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING HELD AUGUST 03, 1999, 6:55 P.M.
Upon the petition of Muskego Moose Lodge for a Conditional Use in accordance with
Section 6.03 of the City of Muskego Zoning Ordinance for the purpose of operating
illuminated outdoor recreation facilities for the Muskego Moose Lodge at the property
located at S86 W21693 Janesville Road.
Present were: Mayor De Angelis, Alderman Salentine, Commissioners Gummer,
Schaumberg, Hulbert, Plan Director Turk, and Recording Secretary Asti.
Absent: Commissioner Smith
Secretary reported that the Public Hearing was properly noticed in accordance with the
Open Meeting Law.
Mayor De Angelis declared the Hearing open at 6:58 P.M.
Plan Director Turk stated that petitioner proposing to construct outdoor lighted
horseshoe pits. Fixtures will be mounted on forty (40) foot tall poles with a 500 watt
down-angled metal halide fixture. The fixture and height of pole will cast wide light
pattern. Petitioner needs to specify hours of operation for the horseshoe pits. Staff
recommends that the hours coincide with the City Parks which would be 10:00 P.M.
Mayor De Angelis asked the petitioner if he wished to speak on this matter. Mrs. Judy
Wachowiak addressed the Commission stating that the Moose Lodge has a liquor
license enabling the Lodge to have outside activities until 11:00 P.M. Mrs. Wachowiak
mentioned that there would be 3-4 outside functions during the year requiring the use
of this facility until 11:00 P.M. Petitioner requested that the hours for the horseshoe
pits coincide with the liquor license.
Mayor De Angelis asked for members in the audience to address the Commission with
their input of concerns, questions, comments, etc. There were none.
Mayor De Angelis stated this matter would be heard through a resolution under New
Business later this evening. There being no further questions or comments, the Public
Hearing was adjourned at 7:02 P.M.
