Plan Commission Minutes PC-01-20-PH2 PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING HELD JANUARY 20, 1998, 6:55 P.M. Amendment of a Conditional Use in accordance with Section 6.03 of the Muskego Zoning Ordinance for mining and processing of sand and gravel. Upon the petition of Payne & Dolan, Inc. for an Amendment of a Conditional Use to allow a capacity increase of an asphalt processing plant from 225 tons per hour to 350 tons per hours. Present were Mayor De Angelis, Alderman Salentine, Commissioner’s Gummer, Smith, Vitt, Schaumberg, Hulbert and Director Sadowski. Secretary reported that the Public Hearing was properly noticed in accordance with the Open Meetings Law. Mayor De Angelis declared the Hearing open at 7:05 P.M., and explained the petition. Director Sadowski stated that petitioner is requesting to build a new processing plant with increased capacity. It was mentioned that this new facility will be required to have bathrooms on site. Mayor De Angelis asked the petitioner if they wished to speak on this matter. Mr. Scott Batchelor addressed the Commission and explained the layout and entire operation of the processing plant. Mr. Batchelor explained that an additional five (5) trucks per hour would be used during peak times compared to ten (10) being used presently. At this time, Mayor De Angelis asked for members in the audience to address the Commission with their input of concerns, questions, comments, etc. Mr. Ken Walter, Town of Vernon, was concerned with the odors from the facility and particles coming from the present facility. Mr. Walter also inquired about the amount being hauled to and from facility. Mr. Batchelor answered that the odors would probably be the same, however, the new facility’s stack will be approximately twenty feet high. This new stack should eliminate some of the particulate matter. Mayor De Angelis asked if anyone else in the audience had any comments. There were none. Mayor De Angelis stated that this matter would be heard through a resolution under New Business later this evening.
