MINUTES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING HELD APRIL 15, 1997
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by Mayor De
Angelis. Also present were Aldermen D'Acquisto, Patterson,
Clerk-Treasurer Marenda, and Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney.
Pionek, Rasmussen, Salentine, Sanders and Suhr,
Clerk-Treas. Marenda noted this meeting was noticed in
accordance with the open meeting law.
Mayor advised Reso. #71-97 was removed from the agenda.
Comments from Ald. Suhr and Ald. Rasmussen were made.
Judge Haughney administered the oaths of office to:
Donna M. Woodard Alderperson District 2
Nancy C. Salentine Alderperson District 4
David J. Sanders Alderperson District 6
Mark Slocomb Alderperson District 7
Judge Haughney made a brief presentation.
Aldermen Woodard, Salentine, Sanders and Slocomb spoke briefly.
moved for adoption. Salentine seconded. Suhr was thanked for
Reso. #72-97 Expressing Appreciation to Mark Suhr. D'Acquisto
his contributions as Alderman. Motion carried 7-0.
Reso. #73-97 - Expressing Appreciation to Robert L. Rasmussen.
was thanked for his contributions as Alderman. Motion carried
D'Acquisto moved for adoption. Sanders seconded. Rasmussen
7-0.
Mayor reminded all aldermen to initial the paper ballots when
casting their votes for Council President, Plan Commission
representative and LML Representative.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT
On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made:
Ald. D'Acquisto
Ald. Sanders
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. D'Acquisto 7
Alderman D'Acquisto was elected President of the Common Council.

On the nominating ballot, the following nominations were made:

Ald. Sanders
On the first election ballot, the following votes were cast:
Ald. Salentine I
Alderman Salentine was elected to serve as Council
Representative to the Plan Commission.

PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT
Mayor noted the Council representative should own property in
the lake district if possible.

Mayor stated a Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for
Clerk-Treas. by next Thursday. All members of the Council form
4/29/91 and agenda items should be presented to the
the membership of C.O.W.
Mayor announced he would make committee appointments at the
Council meeting on 4/22/97 and meanwhile committee memberships
will remain the same with the exception of the outgoing
aldermen.
Sanders moved to adjourn at 1:42 PM. Ald. Pionek seconded,
motion carried.
