VOUCHER APPROVAL
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Current status of lake (water levels, ice, fish, and wildlife)
High water levels from high rainfall totals was discussed. With high water and winds,
floating bogs are again an issue. Greg observed that the lake end of the Durham
channel is now almost completely open. Len noted that Eurasian Water Milfoil was
actively growing in Bass Bay and that the bay was turbid near where the creek flows in.
Eagles and ospreys are back (at least one eaglet in nest) but Forster’s terns do not
appear to be nesting anywhere on the lake this year.
2. Future project ideas
See next item.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Discuss solutions for managing cattail bogs.
As moving cattail bogs is a recurring problem Tom Z suggested that contractors that place
piers and riprap have equipment (barge and crane) that could clear obstructions. Discussion
ensued on if this should be a separate budgeted item. It was concluded that such costs, if
incurred , could be paid from the existing “weed control” budget.
