ROLL CALL Len Pilak, Tom Kies, Larry Schweitzer, and Greg Burmeister were present. Dennis Paulson was excused. Tom Zagar and Sam Theis of Muskego staff were also present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MEETINGS HELD- July 22, 2010 VOUCHER APPROVAL UNFINISHED BUSINESS Discussion of Unfinished business was skipped due to the length of the DNR presentation/open house. 1. Status of Rehabilitation Management and ongoing projects 2. Restoration project for conservancy lands in Bass Bay tributary watershed 3. Cattail bog barriers NEW BUSINESS 1. Discuss water level management proposal and make recommendation to Board of Lake District Commissioners. The meeting followed a presentation by Wisconsin DNR on a proposal to do a partial lowering of water level of Big Muskego in 2011. They proposed two alternatives. One option is to conduct a six inch lowering from dam sill height from April through September. The second option is to lower the lake 12 inches in April following northern pike spawning and attempt to keep it 12 inches lower through May. From June through early September it would then be managed for a 6-inch level reduction. It was discussed in the meeting that this second option would be advantageous to an alum treatment that is planned in April for Wind Lake downstream. The deputy commissioners considered the presentation and overall sentiment of responses from those in attendance. Len Pilak moved to recommend option two, the 12” lowering in spring followed by 6” in summer months. Tom Kies seconded. Larry and Greg also each agreed with that management strategy. Motion carried unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS AND ANY OTHER BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW ADJOURNMENT Larry Schweitzer moved to adjourn, and the meeting adjourned at 8:58 pm. Respectfully submitted, Tom Zagar
