Status of Rehabilitation Management and ongoing projects - Larry suggested that the District consider selling or scrapping the weedcutter as it has not been used in several years. Tom Z said he’d contact Aquarius Systems who deals in weed harvesters to see if there is interest in purchasing the machine, otherwise we would scrap it for the steel. 2. Discuss Eurasian Water milfoil coverage and management for 2008 -- Most observed that it appears to have died back more than a typical year due to the winter snow cover. 3. Restoration project for conservancy lands in Bass Bay tributary watershed -- Tom Zagar spoke of restoring the Bass Bay tributary City-owned lands for better habitat and water quality. NEW BUSINESS 1. Discuss fishery survival from winter kill conditions --Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Fishery Manager Ben Heussner discussed the ongoing fisheries survey of Big Muskego and Bass Bay. He described that the DNR crews were netting fish and marking them. They will later make recapture runs using electro-fishing boats. So far they have seen good survival of fish considering the winter kill situation. However, they did find many bullheads and an increase in carp. He said there could be removal efforts if large concentrations were found. He invited the Deputy Commissioners to observe the electro-fishing operation. 2. Discuss inclusion of a newsletter with Lake District assessment billing. Tom Z. discussed the opportunity of including a newsletter with the District fee billing. It would keep people informed of the status of the lake and ongoing projects. He will make a draft and run it by the Deputy Commissioners for comment.
