DEPUTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING HELD THURSDAY JANUARY 22, 2004
No quorum was present for a legal meeting. Chairman Tom Kies, Deputy Commissioner Greg Burmeister, and
Conservation Coordinator Tom Zagar were present.
A discussion took place regarding edits to the draft lake management plan. Most of the edits were for
typographical errors or for clarification of the material presented and did not represent any substantive change to
the Plan. There was some discussion about adding verbiage within the Plan about effects of motorboat usage on
sediments and aquatic plants. Tom Zagar said he did not anticipate recommending any boating law changes in the
Plan but it could be presented as a topic of the recommended Lake District newsletter. Lake users could then
consider voluntarily modifying boating behavior that may be detrimental to the lake’s ecology.
