Unfinished Business
The DNR will be shocking fish in different areas of the Bay & Big Lake when ice is off to
determine fish counts.
The boat launch and over flow parking are completed. There is still a bog (floating marsh)
blocking part of the channel.
We are applying for a permit for the distribution of weevil beetles. They eat purple
loostrife that is a type of vegetation purple in color and considered noxious that grows in
marshy areas. The cost of the permit is around $200. Rip rap permits have been applied
for the Sandy Beach Tributary and Tributary through Bay Lane Place. On February 18,
1999, the City and DNR and Lake officials will be going out to look at what type of
repairs is needed on a dike located on the Lang/Reiger property to help prevent corp from
entering the lake.
Holz Drive Dredging Project is currently on hold. The ice and ground have not frozen
enough to get heavy equipment across the channel to remove remaining dredging spoils.
The question has been raised as to whether or not we need a pontoon boat that was
donated to the district. An option would be to sell the boat and use the money towards
another project.
New Business- None
The next meeting is April 7, 1999, & the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
