REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2013
Mayor Chiaverotti called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were Commissioners
Madden, Schaumberg, Soltysiak, Glazier, Borgman, Harenda, and Wolfe, Deputy
Commissioners Kies, Schweitzer, Hoeppner and Assistant Deputy Clerk Chavie. Those present
recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The Assistant Deputy Clerk stated the meeting was noticed in
accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Borgman moved for approval of the October 23, 2012 minutes.
Commissioner Harenda seconded; motion carried.
There were no vouchers that required approval.
OLD BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioners Update Regarding Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water Levels,
Plant Growth, Fish and Wildlife
Deputy Commissioner Kies noted that a few residents in the bay area did not remove their pier
in a timely fashion. The frozen, snow-covered piers could be hazardous to snowmobile and
ATV traffic on the lake. The water level is up above the dam sill. There is not too much snow
on the ice so there is good weed growth continuing. He commented that the lake is in very
good health.
Status of Big Muskego Lake Wildlife Area- Land Acquisition by DNR
Deputy Commissioner Kies stated the 90-acre Rachael Lang property that was recently
purchased has been added to the Big Muskego Lake Wildlife Area.
NEW BUSINESS
Authorization for Mayor to Sign Agreement with Marine Biochemists to Control Nuisance
Aquatic Plants
Mayor Chiaverotti spoke on behalf of Conservation Coordinator Tom Zagar. She stated the
contract is the same as last year with a 3% increase to the cost due to inflation. Commissioner
Borgman moved to approve. Commissioner Harenda seconded; motioned carried.
Deputy Commissioner Kies commented that they did not spend the budgeted amount for weed
control last year.
Authorization for Mayor to Apply for DNR Permit ($895) to Control Nuisance Aquatic
Plants in 2013
Commissioner Madden moved to approve. Commissioner Schaumberg seconded;
motioned carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Glazier moved to adjourn at 6:40 p.m. Commissioner Harenda seconded;
motion carried.
