REHABILITATION DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 27, 2012
Mayor Chiaverotti called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Present were Commissioners
Fiedler, Schaumberg, Werner, Borgman, Harenda, and Snead, Conservation
Coordinator Zagar, Deputy Commissioner Burmeister and Deputy Clerk Blenski.
Commissioner Soltysiak was not present. Those present recited the Pledge of
Allegiance. The Deputy Clerk stated the meeting was noticed in accordance with the
Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Fiedler moved for approval of the January 24, 2012 minutes.
Commissioner Borgman seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
There were no vouchers that required approval.
OLD BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioners Update Regarding Current Condition of Lake/Bay, Water
Levels, Plant Growth, Fish and Wildlife
Deputy Commissioner Burmeister reported the following:
• The lake is in great shape because of the mild winter. There was very limited ice
on the lake as well as very thin snow cover. Fish are very healthy and have been
active because of the mild conditions.
• There will probably be a bumper crop of weeds this year because of the mild
winter. Milfoil grew through the ice.
• Wildlife is in terrific shape. Eagles and ducks have been present.
• Water levels have consistently been four to six inches above the top of the dam.
The goal is to keep the water at sill level or higher.
Status of Big Muskego Lake Wildlife Area - Land Acquisition by the DNR
Nothing new to report.
NEW BUSINESS
Authorization for Chairperson to Sign Agreement with Marine Biochemists
Mr. Zagar stated the agreement is for annual routine aquatic plant control. This is the
same contractor that has been used for many years. Commissioner Fiedler moved to
approve. Commissioner Harenda seconded. Motion carried 6 in favor.
Authorization for Chairperson to Apply for DNR Permit
Mr. Zagar stated a permit from the DNR is required for the aquatic plant control.
Commissioner Fiedler moved to approve. Commissioner Werner seconded.
Motion carried 6 in favor.
