BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS (Approved 6/22/04)
• MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 23, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 7:27 PM by Mayor Slocomb. Also present were
Commissioners Petfalski, Buckmaster, Damaske, Madden, Patterson, Salentine and
Schroeder, Attorney Molter, Clerk -Treasurer Marenda and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Those
in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Clerk reported the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Petfalski moved for approval of the 1/27/2004 minutes. Commissioner
Buckmaster seconded; motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL
Commissioner Salentine moved for approval of voucher in the amount of $2,050 to
Quality Hydro for replacement of both of the Weed Harvester paddlewheel drives.
Commissioner Schroeder seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Authorization to Sign Agreement with Marine Biochemists and DNR Permit
• Application
Commissioner Petfalski moved to authorize the Mayor as Chairman to sign the
Agreement with Marine Biochemists and the DNR Permit Application for chemical weed
treatments in 2004. Commissioner Salentine seconded; motion carried. Commissioner
Schroeder requested clarification regarding the per acre cost. He also asked if this was
comparable to what was treated last year. The Mayor responded yes. Commissioner
Salentine stated the DNR makes the determination regarding the areas that are to be
treated.
Election of Secretary
With the retirement of City Clerk -Treasurer Jean Marenda who serves as secretary to
the Board, the Commissioners must elect a new secretary. Commissioner Salentine
moved to elect the person in the position of Clerk -Treasurer to be the secretary.
Commissioner Madden seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Buckmaster moved to adjourn at 7:33 PM. Commissioner Schroeder
seconded; motion carried.
