• MINUTES OF QUARTERLY MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2003
The meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm by Mayor Slocomb. Also present were
Commissioners Petfalski, Buckmaster, Damaske, Madden, Patterson, Salentine and
Schroeder, Attorney Trindl, Clerk -Treasurer Marenda, Deputy Clerk Blenski, and Deputy
Commissioners Kies, Burmeister and Pilak. .
The Clerk reported the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Salentine moved for approval of the 8/12/2003 minutes. Commissioner
Buckmaster seconded; motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Review Restoration Projects(islands, Fish Restocking, Public Access, Carp
Barrier)
Mr. Kies stated there is nothing substantial to report. Modest progress has been made
on the carp barrier but nothing of substance at this time. The Deputy Commissioners
will The working on the islands over the winter to clear brush.
Discuss Future Projects
Mr. Kies report that completion of the grant management plan should take place in the
near future. Clearing the islands is an ongoing project. The north island needs
clearing, which will be accomplished when there is ice on the lake.
Status of Big Muskego Lake Wildlife Area - Land Acquisition by DNR
Mayor Slocomb stated an acquisition of 22 acres, part of the old Heinrich Farm on the
west side of the channel, was recently completed. There are probably others in the
negotiation stage.
Big Muskego Lake & Bass Bay Management Plan Development
Mr. Kies indicated the plan is substantially completed. Some tweaking and finalization
is all that is needed. It is anticipated that it will be finalized in the next few months.
NEW BUSINESS
Election of Secretary and Treasurer
Commissioner Salentine moved to elect Clerk -Treasurer Marenda as Secretary and
Finance Director Gunderson as Treasurer of the Big Muskego Lake District.
Commissioner Petfalski seconded; motion carried.
0 VOUCHER APPROVAL
Commissioner Salentine moved to approve voucher in the amount of $3,375 for
engineering services of Crispell-Snyder for the sedimentation facility and $3,150 for the
BMUBB Board of Commissioners

• lake monitoring program (U.S.G.S.). Commissioner Buckmaster seconded; motion
carried.
Commissioner Salentine asked for the status of the weed cutter. Mayor Slocomb said
the weed cutter will be taken out of the channel by the Public Works Dept. Once the
ground freezes, it will then be removed. Deputy Commissioner Burmeister noted the
water level is on the rise. It may get to be high enough to float the weed cutter out to
the public access.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Petfalski moved to adjourn at 7:35 p.m. Commissioner Buckmaster
seconded; motion carried.
