UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Status of Rehabilitation Management
Mr. Pilak circulated photographs of the Big Lake including one from the "Outdoor
Wisconsin" segment. He noted interest in the Big Muskego Lake was generated with
the airing of the programs. It is proposed that several photographs will be made
available for sale as a fundraiser for the lake district. The details to accomplish are
being worked out. The count of Northern has increased. The DNR is not concerned at
this time with the Northern population. In addition, the DNR is monitoring the other fish
species and may do some restocking. Cattail burning is also proposed to be done.
Some projects, such as this, have been slow getting off the ground due to personnel
changes at the City and DNR levels.
Status of Boat Launch and Overflow Parking Lot Project
Mr. Pilak stated that the boat launch is done as was reported at the last quarterly
meeting. Tom Zagar has prepared a map depicting launch areas, cattail bogs,
channels, etc. About 200 copies of the map will be sent out to lake district members,
with others available for sale (50 cents). Mr. Pilak thanked Tom for his efforts. It was
noted that the map could be furnished with the purchase of an annual boat pass. Mr.
Pilak will discuss with Tom Zagar and Craig Anderson. The map will be posted at the
public access but he does not believe having the maps available for free at the boat
launch is a good idea.
Mr. Pilak also stated that Tom Zagar was working on the preparation of posters
depicting the species of wildlife in the area. He also reported that in December he and
Tom worked on a bog that was blocking the access channel.

Status of On -Going Proiects
-- Mr. Pilak stated that he already discussed the map and proposed sale of pictures. He
further noted that six additional ospreys will be introduced to the area (around the first
of July). Also as mentioned earlier, the "Outdoor Wisconsin" segment was seen
nationwide. Mr. Pilak has received phone calls from other lake districts as to what was
done on the Big Lake. He is referring the calls to the DNR.
Lake District Equipment Update
Mr. Pilak reported that the lake district accepted the donation of a pontoon boat. The
boat was old and it was determined that it was more cost effective to sell it rather than
spend additional money to update it. The boat was sold for $1,000. The district Go
Devil was put in the water. Mr. Pilak reiterated that only a few select people are
allowed to operate that piece of equipment.
Status of Big Muskego Lake Feasibility Study
Mr. Pilak reported that public comment has been positive regarding the acquisition of
lands around the lake. It will be up to the DNR and public as to the potential use of the
lands acquired.
ADJOURNMENT
