UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Deputy Commissioner Pilak stated the lake's condition is full. The agenda item entitled
"update on draw down status" can be removed from future agendas. The DNR recently
shocked the lake to check the numbers of stocked fish. The Department was pleased
with the numbers. Mayor noted the spillway gates have been closed.
Mr. Pilak stated that Kristy Rogers, Mark Paulat's replacement, has jumped into existing
projects with full speed. He stated there are loose ends to tie up regarding the
completion of the public access site. The area is already being utilized.
NEW BUSINESS
In conjunction with the ongoing hunting season, Mr. Pilak stated the deputy
commissioners oppose permanent duck blinds and will be requesting a City ordinance
to disallow them. Mr. Pilak will be requesting this action at the November 3 Public
Services Committee meeting. This type of ordinance can be done on the state level but
it will take years. He has not heard of any opposition to disallow the permanent blinds.
When left remaining in the water, the blinds can be a navigational hazard. He and
several other individuals have spent countless hours to remove the blinds left behind.
