BMLM19810908BIG MUSKEGO LAKE/BASS BAY PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT ANNUAL MEETING - SEPTEMBER 8, 1981 - MUSKEGO CITY HALL 04 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerome Gottfried at 7:07 P.M. Also present were Commissioners Dumke Salentine, Steinberg, Penovich, Knudsen, Radtke, Klenz and Steinberg and City Clerk Stewart The Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting held September 8, 1980. Mr. Estel Ellery moved to approve the minutes, as read. Seconded by Mr. Al. Meinen. C h m.Gottfried advised the DNR has not as yet submitted to the district the results of their studies on the lake, He indicated that part of the problem probably is lack of an agreement on public access to either the big lake or Bass Bay. Negotiations are still in progress. He further stated there is strong preference by the DNR for a lake access on Bass Bay reached from Woods Road on Ladwig Drive. He further stated the property is owned by Audrey Oschman and is on the far east end of her property on Bass Bay. Chairman Gottfried advised those present the district has had two appeals to the courts on action taken by the commissioners which denied detach- ment from the district. The two appeals being from Mr. and Mrs. Michael Flees and Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Zlensky. Commissioner Wayne Salentine reviewed th e status of the plans for an interceptor from the northwest to the northeast treatment plants. He indicated negotiations are going on with Metro and hopefully we can negotiate a contract that will satisfy the citizens as well as the Council. Commissioner Salentine advised the DNR has been monitoring the sewer lagoons and recently we have been able to comply with all requirements. The following persons were then nominated from the floor to serve as Deputy Commissioners: Al Meinen, Sr. Craig Lawdanski Brent Martins Estel Ellery Larry Erickson Judy Erickson moved that nominations be closed. The motion carried and upon a voice vote the five nominees will serve as Deputy Commissioners. Mr. Estel Ellery advised the lake was cleaner this year than it has been for the past three or four years and their efforts would continue towards the installation of the interceptor line between the northwest and northeast plants. In answer to a question from Mr. Ellery as to whether or not the interceptor would be installed by 1983, Mayor Gottfried advised we have already began the necessary procedures and hopefully the project would be financed through TIF.
