OLD BUSINESS 1. Fireworks Permits/Requirements — Jim Mayer advised he was still compiling information to author an educational pamphlet. Mayer advised he should have all the information by the next meeting. Alderman Harenda was going to talk to Deputy Clerk Blenski to draft some type of language reference the burning ban and to incorporate the date of July 1 St on the permit. The committee agreed that they did not feel it was necessary to have the insurance limit changed, due to the fact that the situation would end up in a civil lawsuit between insurance companies. Fire Chief Wojnowski recommended that the citizens who had permits for this year who were not allowed to use them, be able to use them for 2013. Chief Wojnowski also recommended that after 2013 no private citizen should be allowed to obtain a fireworks permit. The committee agreed that this would be the quickest and easiest solution rather than having to make changes to the ordinance. The committee also agreed that if that was the case, they would need to have language to back up the reasons for wanting to ban fireworks in Muskego for private citizens. Alderman Harenda agreed to bring the issue up at the Committee of the Whole meeting to see how other council members feel about banning fireworks. The committee also agreed that the matter would need to be put to a public hearing if the majority of alderman agreed this was the best solution. The entire matter will be discussed at the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW 1.
