PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF 14USKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Misko.
Also present were Committee Member Woodard, Building Inspection
Director Chuck Dykstra, Chief Johnson, Ald. D'Acquisto and those
per the attached list. Committee Members Sanders was excused as
he was at the Finance Committee meeting scheduled for the same
time.
Chuck Dykstra reviewed with the Committee the attached report on
status of condemnations.
Nothing to report on updating of existing forms and ordinances.
Ald. D'Acquisto appeared before the Committee to review speed
limit on CTH L, west of Racine Avenue. A letter from Mr. Richard
A. Bolte, Director, Waukesha County Dept. of Transportation, dated
May 11, 1994, was reviewed which stated that a speed study was
done on CTH L between Hillendale road and Mercury Drive, and
showed a good voluntary compliance with the posted 55 MPH zone.
• Ald. Woodard moved to send another letter to Mr. Bolte requesting
a 35 MPH zone for CTH L at intersection CTH Y, west to Woods Road
due to increased traffic as a result of the Plum Creek Development
south of CTH L and also because of the ending of the Recreational
Trail/Bike Path at Muskego County Park. Seconded by Ald. Misko,
motion carried.
The Committee reviewed with Ald. D'Acquisto a request for no
parking on CTH L west of intersection of Westwood Dr. Ald.
Woodard moved to request the Police Department to review accident
survey and request that a letter be sent to the owners of "Tan
Your Buns" to appear at the next Public Safety Committee to
discuss parking concerns. Seconded by Ald. Misko, motion carried.
Ald. Woodard discussed with the Committee complaint received on
the traffic and parking on Bay lane during baseball games. The
Committee requested Chief Johnson to do a traffic study and to
report back to the Committee any problems with parking.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
