MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman
Misko. Also present were Committee Members Salentine and
Rasmussen, Mayor De Angelis, Chief Johnson, Building Inspection
Director Chuck Dykstra, Ald. Sanders, School Board
representatives and those per the attached list.
The Committee noted that the meeting was posted on February 2,
1996, in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
Chuck Dykstra updated the Committee on status of Condemnations
and Citations, report attached. Mayor De Angelis asked about
collapsed barn on College Avenue and Chuck advised that he
would look into it and report back to the Committee.
Chuck Dykstra reviewed with the Committee a new handout for New
Home permits. It now includes information suggesting
installing a gravel drive to help minimize the potential of
fines under Section 10.06(1)(b) which states that no person
shall undertake any activity resulting in the placement of mud,
dirt, clay, etc. upon any street, gutter, alley, sidewalk or
bike patch within the City.
• Superintendent Richard Drury and High School Principal Robert
Rammer, Muskego-Norway School District, appeared before the
Committee to discuss parking in vicinity of the High School.
Supt. Drury indicated that the School Board is investigating
the following:
a) Cost of additional parking.
b) Review issuing of parking passes from first come/
first serve to "as needed".
c) Recommend installation of "No Parking" signs.
d) Review possibility of requiring parking on school
property. Attorney is investigating, but it does
not seem to be enforceable.
Chief Johnson indicated that signs could not be posted just at
entrance to subdivision. Ald. Sanders stated that his
constitutents would agree to a 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.
restriction of parking. Chief Johnson presented some
alternative parking sites, including removal of "No Parking"
restriction on Woods Road. Mayor De Angelis suggested removal
of "No Parking" restriction on Woods Road and placing signs in
only a portion of the subdivision, rather than the whole
subdivision. Principal Rammer indicated that he would be
concerned about the safety in crossing Woods Road if parking
was allowed. Mr. Ross Lukowski, Woodcrest Subdivision,
• indicated that he was concerned that the problem would be
moved. David Greiber questioned if there would possibly be
room for parking at the Educational Center. He does not

• believe that additional parking would solve the problem. Ald.
Sanders requested installation of "No Parking" signs on Jean
Drive, south of Sue Marie Lane, on both sides of the road.
Mayor De Angelis questioned the 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.
timeframe. Principal Rammer stated that he felt students
should all be in school by 7:30 A.M. Ald. Rasmussen moved to
post "No Parking - Monday thru Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M."
signs on Sue Marie Lane, Douglas Drive, Denice Ct., Darcy Ct.
and the north/south section of Jean Drive, from Sue Marie Lane
north to the 90 degree curve on Jean Drive (approximately 18700
block); and installing "No Parking At Anytime" signs on Jean
Drive, between Sue Marie Lane and Woods Road (both sides of
Jean Drive). Seconded by Ald. Salentine, motion carried.
Mr. Michael Barber, S102 W15746 Heinrich Drive, appeared before
the Committee to discuss intersection of CTH L and Durham Drive
and to request a red flashing signal light be installed. Ald.
Salentine moved to increase the size of the stop sign and
increase to as high a reflective material as possible, to raise
the sign, as needed, so vehicles approaching on Durham Drive
can see sign (southeast corner), and to send a letter to
Bushy's Pub requesting that they remove the sign in the front
of their property that is now in the City right-of-way.
Seconded by Ald. Rasmussen, motion carried.
• Chairman Misko discussed letter that has been sent to the
Public Service Commission regarding the City's concern on the
outage scheduled during extreme cold weather on Muskego Dam
Road.
Ald. Rasmussen advised that Plan Director Sadowski is waiting
for information from the Franklin Building Inspection
Department on the status of the billboards on Hwy. 45 near
Metro Landfill.
Ald. Salentine moved to adjourn at 7:50 P.M.
