PSM19951109PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 1995
• The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Misko.
Also present were Committee Members Rasmussen and Salentine and
Building Inspection Director Chuck Dykstra. Supt. John Loughney,
Ald. Patterson and Ald. Suhr arrived at 7:00 P.M. and Mayor De
Angelis arrived at 7:15 P.M.
The Committee noted that the meeting was posted on 11/3/95 in
accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
Building Inspection Director discussed status of attached report
on Condemnations/Citations.
Building Inspection Chuck Dykstra reviewed with the Committee the
proposed amendments to the Public Nuisance Ordinance. Ald.
Salentine moved to add bike paths to Section 10.6 and Section
10.07, along with alley, sidewalk, etc. Seconded by Ald.
Rasmussen. Motion carried 3-0. Ald. Salentine moved to recommend
Council adoption and to send to City Attorney for review.
Seconded by Ald. Rasmussen. Motion carried 3-0.
Building Inspection Chuck Dykstra reviewed with the Committee the
proposed amendments to the Erosion Control Ordinance and indicated
that he received some very good suggestions from the DNR which
have been included. Ald. Salentine moved to recommend Council
adoption and to send to City Attorney for review. Seconded by
• Ald. Rasmussen. Motion carried 3-0.
The Committee discussed update on proposed Senate Bill 252,
Boating Ordinance. Ald. Rasmussen shared with the Committee his
conversation with Police Chief Johnson who recommended that the
Committee defer until passage of Bill 252. The Committee agreed
to defer until final adoption of Bill 252.
The Committee reviewed proposed amendment to Deposit and
Forfeiture Scheduled for proposed amendment to Chapter 10, Section
10.06(11), as follows:
10.06(11) $100.00 1st offense
$200.00 2nd offense
$300.00 3rd offense
Ald. Rasmussen moved to approve recommendation. Seconded by Ald.
Salentine. Motion carried 3-0.
The Committee requests that Review of Deer Crossing Signs be put
on December 14, 1995 Public Safety Agenda.
Ald. Salentine moved to adjourn at 7:25 P.M. Seconded by Ald.
Rasmussen. Motion carried 3-0.
