MIMUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 10, 1995
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Misko.
Also present were Committee Member Salentine and Rasmussen,
Building Inspection Director Chuck Dykstra, Alderman Suhr and
those per the attached list.
The Committee noted that the meeting was posted on August 7, 1995,
in accordance with the Open meeting Law.
Building Inspection Director Chuck Dykstra discussed with the
committee the update on Condemnations/Citations (attached).
There was nothing new on update of existing forms and ordinances.
The Committee reviewed concerns on condition of intersection of
Tess Corners Road and CTH "L" brought to the Committee's concerns
by Mr. Martin Bangert. Ald. Salentine moved to investigate the
use of reflectors or overhead signs to better identify the through
and turn lanes, and to request the Public Works Department to
review the road layout and look at possible widening. Seconded by
Ald. Rasmussen, motion carried 3-0.
Committee Member Rasmussen reviewed with the committee a request
• he has received for removal of billboard on HWY 1100". It was
noted that the billboard is actually located in the City of
Franklin. The Committee is concerned that children from Muskego
can be hurt if they play on the structure. Planning Director Matt
Sadowski has sent a letter to the City of Franklin requesting
their cooperation in removal. The Committee will review progress
of request at their September meeting.
The Committee reviewed traffic study at intersection of Bay Shore
Drive and Richdorf Drive and noted that problem has been resolved.
The Committee reviewed correspondence received from Waukesha
County Department of Transportation, dated August 1, 1995, in
answer to the Committee's letter of July 7, 1995, indicating that
the results of a speed study that they conducted indicated that
motorists perceive the existing 45 mph speed limit to be
appropriate and they conclude that lowering the speed limit is not
warranted. Ald. Salentine requested that a copy of the letter
from Waukesha County be sent to Mrs. Patricia Plennes on Jean
Drive as a response to her concern.
Mr. Richard Anderley, Lannon Drive, appeared before the Committee
to discuss his concerns about snowmobilers and the damage done to
his driveway because of the snowmobiles. Chairman Misko indicated
that there currently is a bill in the State Legislature addressing
. snowmobile issues. Chairman Misko also indicated that we could
restrict traffic off of Lannon Drive. Currently we are not taking

• action until resolution of bill. Chairman Misko stated that this
issue is being worked on by the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee.
The Committee reviewed memorandum from Chief Johnson, dated July
12, 1995, requesting stop signs to be placed on Spinnaker Drive
and Bridgeport Way at their intersection with Bay Lane. Ald.
Salentine moved to approve request. Seconded by Ald. Rasmussen,
motion carried 3-0.
Ald. Salentine discussed with the Committee a request received for
speed limit sign and "Caution -Children At Play" sign on Bay Shore
Drive, at the top of the hill off of Lochcrest Blvd. Ald.
Rasmussen moved to direct Supt. Loughney to install a speed limit
sign and a "Caution -Children At Play" sign on the same post on the
west side of Bay Shore Drive, at the top of the hill. Seconded by
Ald. Salentine, motion carried 3-0.
Ald. Salentine moved to adjourn at 7:45 P.M. Seconded by Ald.
Rasmussen, motion carried.
