MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 12, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Brian
Misko. Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Building
Inspection Director Chuck Dykstra, Mayor De Angelis, and those per
the attached list. Committee Members Woodard was excused.
The Committee reviewed the status of Condemnations, attached, with
Chuck Dykstra. Chuck advised the Committee that the trial date
for Dan Barker has been set for June 25, 1994. The Committee
reviewed status of structural condition of the home on W216 510621
Crowbar Road and requested an inspection by engineer to verify
safe condition of roof. The Committee also requested that the
Building Inspection Director write a letter to owner of property
addressed W188 57340 George Island, Little Muskego Lake, informing
of costs related to condemnation procedure and giving one last
chance for voluntary compliance.
Chuck Dykstra reviewed with the Committee new Inspection Card,
Submittal Requirements Checklist, Plan Review Checklist and new
carbonless Receipt Form. A copy will be supplied to each alderman.
The Committee discussed status of request to Waukesha County
• Department of Transportation regarding CTH L and Lannon Drive.
Mayor advised that changes need to be made to ingress/egress for
the FirstStar Bank. Installation of walk/no walk lights are in
the process of being installed.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian James and Mr. Gerald Dovic appeared before the
Committee to discuss their request for "No Parking" zone on Mystic
Drive. The Committee reviewed correspondence received in support
of the request from Mr. Craig Lawdanski (S83 W16000 Bass Bay Lane)
and Police Department. Ald. Sanders moved to install "No Parking,
Stopping or Standing" signs on Mystic Drive, from Foxboro South to
the end of Mystic Drive, including 100 ft. of Bass Bay Lane up to
the security gate being constructed. Seconded by Ald. Misko,
motion carried.
The Committee reviewed request for "Children at Play" signs on Lay
Lane as requested by Ald. Woodard. Ald. Sanders moved to
recommend installation of "Caution" or "Slow/Children Present"
signs on Bay Lane, as close as possible to the intersection of
Woods Road. Seconded by Ald. Misko, motion carried.
The request for "Slow -Children Present" sign on Lions Park Drive
requested by Ald. Taube was removed from the agenda and will be
put on the June agenda at Ald. Taube's request.
• The Committee reviewed present Burning Ordinance (Chapter 9,
Section 9.14). Ald. Misko moved to direct Chief Johnson to
prepare the annual press release for burning regulations and to
put in all local papers, including the Enterprise. Seconded by

• Ald. Sanders, motion carried. The Committee will be reviewing the
composting restrictions regarding location and maintenance for
formulation of a new ordinance at their June meeting.
Chairman Misko, under Communications advised the Committee that
Mr. Richard A. Bolte, Waukesha County Department of
Transportation, had responded to the City's request for lower of
speed limits on CTH L (Janesville Road). Mr. Bolte reported that
a speed study on the portion of CTH L between Hillendale Road and
Mercury Drive had been completed and show a good voluntary
compliance with the posted 55 MPH zone. Mr. Bolte explained that
the County's goal is to establish speed limits which command a
high level of voluntary compliance. Unreasonably low speed limits
are not obeyed, breed disrespect of speed zones in general, and
increase accident potential based upon speed differentials. Mr.
Bolte concluded that the present speed limit on CTH L is
appropriate for that road.
