PSM199304130 AS ADOPTED BY COMMON COUNCIL ON APRIL 13, 1993 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 8, 1993 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Simmons. Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Chief John Johnson and Building Inspection Director Chuck Dykstra. The Committee reviewed the attached report on status of Condemnations with Chuck Dykstra. Chuck Dykstra presented registration forms for Underground Tank Registration, Business Registration Form and Well Abandonment Registration Form which are being used in the Building Inspection Department. A discussion was held on a memorandum that was sent to the Fire Chiefs from Tom Chiconas, Soil Erosion Inspector, regarding conditions that must be observed in burning of wood structures which address the presence of asbestos and lead. Chief Johnson reviewed with the Committee the following revised traffic sign plan for the Plum Creek Subdivision as a State • Statute that requires motorists to yield when exiting a dead end road onto an arterial street was overlooked in the original plan: Stop Signs On Forest Glen Drive @ Janesville Road On Bendingbrae Drive @ Woods Road On Bendingbrae Drive @ Plum Creek Boulevard On Plum Creek Boulevard @ Woods Road Yield Sign On Apollo Drive @ Forest Glen Drive No Trucking Over 10,000 Lbs. For southbound traffic on Forest Glen Drive at subdivision entrance. For westbound traffic on Apollo Drive at subdivision - Industrial Park border. Ald. Simmons moved to approve the amended traffic sign plan for Plum Creek East Subdvision. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried. . Public Safety Committee - Page 2 April 8, 1993 A lengthy discussion was held on the proposed inspection of all Class B establishments. Chuck Dykstra clarified that at the present time, only residential properties are required to have a Code Compliance. Ald. Simmons moved to defer action to allow the Committee to determine if they wish to have a code compliance requirement for all businesses. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried. Ald. Simmons moved to approve two "Slow - Children Present" signs to be erected at the entrances to Woodscrest Subdivision; Woods Road and Racine Avenue. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
