SAFETY COMMITTEE

MUSKEGO
MINUTES
OF MEETING HELD
SEPTEMBER
14, 1989
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 7:10 P.M.
Also present were Committee Members Patterson and D. Sanders,
Chief Johnson, Ald. Hilt and those per the attached list.
The Committee discussed "No Parking" problem on Briargate Lane.
Resolution #216-89, adopted August 8, 1989, established "No
Parking" on the north side of Briargate, west of Meadow Drive to
Lannon Drive. Ald. D. Sanders moved to recommend adoption of new
resolution extending "No Parking" signs east to the west property
line of S72 W16972 Briargate Lane. Seconded by Ald. Patterson,
motion carried. Marjorie Backhaus appeared before the Committee
to complain about the above area, excessive speeding on Bellview
Drive, and traffic congestion on Parkland and Janesville for
traffic turning onto Janesville Road.
The Committee reviewed Condemnations and noted that no report was
received from the Department of Planning and Development. Scott
Martz appeared before the Committee to request an extension to
research various options for the building at W172 57441 Center
Drive. The Committee granted a one month extension and requested
that Mr. Martz appear at the October meeting.
• Chairman Taube will contact the Muskego Transport Company to
request that buses refrain from blocking entrance to parking lot
for Muskego Elementary School. Chairman Taube will also contact
the Muskego/Norway School Board to suggest placement of a culvert
and paving over ditch along west end of Michi Drive to provide
more room for loading and unloading of buses.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
