PSM19880721PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 21, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 7 35 P.M. by Chairman Taube.
Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Ald. Hilt, Director
and Land Use Administrator G. P. Lee, Police Chief Johnson, Ald.
Penovich, and those per the attached list. Committee Member
Patterson was absent.
The Committee reviewed request for stop sign at Ranch Drive.
Concerned citizens expressed desire for stop sign at intersection
of Ranch Drive and Earl Drive. A curve warning sign was
previously installed at this intersection. A history of
automobiles going around the curve at excessive speed was
discussed. Ald. Taube moved to request that the Highway
Superintendent paint center line of curve, erect reflector posts
marking the curve and erect curve marker signs with 15 m.p.h.
warning signs. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed request for special sign with Susan
Sherman. A blind child resides at S68 W12986 Bristlecone Lane.
Ald. Taube moved to direct the Highway Superintendent to erect
two signs designating "Blind Child" 100 ft. on both sides of
home. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed request for a street light at Tans & Gold
Drive. The request is being made because this is the entrance to
•
a potentially large subdivision. Ald. Sanders moved to direct
the Highway Superintendent to install a street light at the
southwest corner of Tans & Gold Drive. Seconded by Ald. Taube,
motion carried. Ald. Sanders also moved to erect an
informational sign below Tans Drive sign at Hillendale and Tans
Drive indicating that continuation of Tans Drive is located off
of Gold Drive to the east.
The Committee reviewed request for Street Light at Oak Grove.
The request was denied as the City only installs street lights at
major intersections.
A further discussion was held on parking in Tess Corners Area.
The Committee reviewed correspondence from Police Chief Johnson
dated July 8, 1988 and recommended that a copy of this memorandum
be sent to Mr. Richard Schaumberg and that Mr. Schaumberg be
invited to attend the August Public Safety meeting.
Director and Land Use Administrator G. P. Lee updated the
Committee on condemnations and advised the Committee that no
communication has been received from Mr. Ken Brown on North Cape
Road. The Committee requested that G. P. Lee notify Mr. Brown,
in writing, to appear at the August Public Safety meeting.
• The Committee deferred discussion on parking on Hardke Drive
until the August Public Safety meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P. Respectfully submitted,
ca
