PSM19880407PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 7, 1988
• The meeting was called to order at 7:25 P.M. by Chairman Taube.
Also present were Committee Members Sanders and Patterson, Mayor
Salentine, Ald. Dumke, Ald. Hilt, Building Inspector Lee, and
those per the attached list.
The Committee reviewed status of the following condemnation:
Ken Brown - Mr. Brown reported that he is attempting to get
his lot reappraised in order to obtain a loan to finance the
construction of a new home. Ald. Patterson moved to give the
owner an additional 30 days to attempt to get the reappraisal and
recommended that a Perk Test for a Sewage Disposal system be
obtained. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed renaming Bay Lane to Bay Lane Terrace.
The majority of the affected citizens preferred that the name of
the street remain the same. The Safety Committee explained that
the changing of the name to Bay Lane Terrace would assist
emergency vehicles in finding a specific street. The citizens
agreed that if no other way can be found, that they will accept
the change. The Safety Committee determined that a letter should
be sent to the nine affected citizens explaining the reasoning
behind the name change.
The Safety Committee will review other streets with conflicting
names at the next meeting.
• The Committee reviewed overnight parking of trucks on Hwy. 24.
Mr. Scott Weber presented photographs which showed the problem of
overnight parking of trucks on Hwy. 24 in the area adjacent to
his driveway. Ald. Patterson moved that a sign be erected on
both sides of the affected areas of Tess Cornors Rd. to Durham
that states that "There Will Be No Overnight Parking Of Trucks
From 6 P.M. To 6 A.M." Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
Ald. Patterson moved that a letter be sent to the State
requesting that they enforce the No Parking regulation within 150
ft. of an intersection. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, carried.
The Committee discussed No Parking signs in Idle Isle Area. A
citizen brought in a letter with 32 signatures opposed to the
parking of cars and trailers on the roads in the vicinity of Idle
Isle Park.
Ald. Patterson moved that the Parks Department limit the
launching of boats on a weekend to the parking areas on Idle Isle
to prevent the severe parking problem that has existed in the
past on the roads adjacent to Idle Isle. Seconded by Ald.
Sanders, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
. Respectfully submitted,
Ald. Harold L. Sanders
