PSM19871105• PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 5, 1987 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman Taube. Also present were Committee Members Patterson and Sanders, Building Inspector Lee, Police Chief Johnson and those per the attached list. Building Inspector Lee updated the Committee on the following condemnations: Lincoln Drive - W186 S7645 Lincoln Drive - $3,000 Bond received on October 30, 1987. Cracks are still present in basement walls. Other work, including plumbing, has not been completed. Owner stated he is having problems with contractors not showing up to do the work. Ald. Taube moved to grant owner an additional 30 days to complete the required improvements before the Bond is enacted. It was also noted that ground cover is to be laid to prevent erosion on the property around the house. The owner of the property will attend next month's meeting to report on progress. North Cape Road - W126 S9485 - Progress is being made on • erecting a new home on this property. Old building will be razed within 30 days of completion of new home. • Center Drive - W172 S7455 - Permit has been taken out to side the 1—fi o� and install new roof and supports. Work on garage will be completed by the 1st of the year. Lannon Drive - W172 S7505 - Caradero Club - Garage will be razed within two weeks. Bay Lane - S79 W16197 - Condemnation pending owner's compliance to repair fire damaged chimney. Repair order issued September 23, 1987. The Committee recommended that the Building Inspector cite owner under Chapter 19 of the Municipal Code and that condemnation orders may follow this action if no response is received from owner as to recommended repairs. The Committee discussed the plans for extension of Lannon Drive and recommends that the Plan Commission look into the extension of Lannon Drive north to College Avenue. The Committee discussed with Police Chief Johnson a complaint that the City has received about curve signs on McShane & Cheviot. The area in question is presently marked with two curve signs; one on each side of the road. To improve the signing, there are two options: • 1. Move the sign on the north side of McShane closer to the curve; specifically 200 ft. east of Cheviot Drive. • • Public Safety Committee - Page 2 November 5, 1987 2. Place markers on the curve as was done for a similar problem on Bay Lane. Aid. Sanders moved to place markers on the curve to alleviate the problem. Seconded by Aid. Patterson, motion carried. The Committee discussed report on Bicycle Lane marking with Police Chief Johnson and state statutory requirements were reviewed. The Committee discussed parking problem on Fennimore Lane and it was determined that snow plowing will not be a problem if people do not park on the street when snow exists. A request for "No Parking" signs on East Tower Drive was discussed and Aid. Taube moved to install "No Parking" signs within 40 ft. of each side of driveway of individual who has complaint. The motion died for lack of a second. The Committee discussed enforcement of Erosion Control Ordinance. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. ca Respectfully submitted, Aid.
