PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 11, 1987
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 7:05 P.M.
Also present were Committee Member Penovich, Mayor Salentine,
Building Inspector Lee, Chief Johnson, Gene Gaetzke and John
Budish. Ald. Sanders was absent.
The Committee discussed status of Bayside Tavern with John Budish
and Building Inspector Lee. Mr. Budish stated that there are
four or five items remaining to be corrected from the list
compiled by the Building Inspection Department. Ald. Penovich
moved that all violations other than the installation of a new
roof be completed by April 1, 1987, with the new roof to be
completed by June 1, 1987. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion
carried.
The Committee discussed creating a right turn lane on Highway 24
& Lannon Drive. The Committee will discuss again after repaving
of Highway 24 to see if problem is corrected.
The Committee discussed request for sand barrel for Bay Shore
Drive & Racine Avenue. The Committee will let Supt. Bertram
decide if he would like a barrel there this year and if it will
be used.
• The Committee discussed parking problem on Oak Court. Ald. Taube
moved to have the Public Works Department place sign posts on
edge of property in question to designate edge of road. Seconded
by Ald. Penovich, motion carried.
The parking problem on Richdorf was not discussed due to lack of
information.
The Committee discussed possible condemnation of cottage at S83
W15249 Mystic Drive as recommended by Building Inspector Lee.
Ald. Taube moved to recommend condemnation and direct Building
Inspector Lee to take the necessary steps.
The Committee discussed possible condemnation of garage at W186
S6782 Jewel Crest Drive as recommended by Building Inspector
Lee. Ald. Taube moved to recommend condemnation and direct
Building Inspector Lee to take the necessary steps.
The Committee discussed possible condemnation of building at W126
S9485 North Cape Road as recommended by Building Inspector Lee.
The Committee directed Mr. Lee to inspect property and report
back to Commitee at March meeting.
The Committee discussed possible condemnation of building at S86
W13971 Priegel Drive as recommended by Building Inspector Lee.
Building Inspector Lee will discuss problem with Attorney Macy
• who will make a determination as to best course to take.

• The Committee discussed possible condemnation of home at W186
S7645 Lincoln Drive with Building Inspector Lee. Ald. Taube
moved to have the City Attorney review Chapter 19 of the
Municipal Code and report status at next meeting. Seconded by
Ald. Penovich, motion carried. Ald. Taube will contact the owner
of the property to update him on intentions of Committee.
