PSM19861124PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
. MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 24, 1986
D
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 7:05 P.M.
Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Mayor Salentine, Ald.
DeAngelis, Sgt. Manske, Mr. Charles DuPont and Mr. John
Mahoney. Ald. Penovich was absent.
The Committee reviewed request for a decorative street light for
the entrance to the Marlan Meadow Subdivision off of Martin
Drive. The Committee recommended that the City Clerk research
the Developer's Agreement to determine if there is any reference
to a street light.
Mr. John Mahoney appeared before the Committee in regard to an
unlicensed relatively old dump truck on his property, which
consists of 3-1/2 acres near Lake Denoon. This dump truck is
only used occasionally to haul things to and from the lake. The
Committee determined that the truck is too large (7200) to be
parked in a residential area. It was noted that a Public Hearing
regarding the parking of trucks and trailers on private property
is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25, 1986 at 7:25 P.M. and the
Committee recommended that Mr. Mahoney attend.
Ald. Sanders moved to have the City install a street light at the
intersection of College Avenue and College Court, in accordance
with the recommendation of Public Works Superintendent Bertram.
Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the proposed fill permit that was
formulated by the Building Inspection Department. The title of
the permit is "Land Disturbing Permit". The Committee determined
that the section of the permit which charges $1 per cubic yard
over 25 yards seemed excessive. The Committee requests that the
Building Inspector attend the December Public Safety Meeting
The problem of overnight parking of trucks in the City was
discussed and it was noted that the problem areas will have to be
isolated and that this issue will remain on the Agenda for
further action. Correspondence from the Building Inspector was
reviewed which referred to parking of trucks and indicated the
possibility of establishing a truck parking area in the
Industrial Park. Attorney Molter's correspondence was discussed
and this matter will be further reviewed.
The Committee reviewed correspondence from the Building Inspector
under Communications regarding construction changes to City
Hall. The Commitee recommended that any change orders be stapled
to original construction plans to bring the plans up to date.
The meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.M.
