PSM19860611PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 11, 1986
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 7:00 P.M.
Also present were Committee Members Sanders and Penovich, Mayor
Salentine, Ald. Hilt, Police Chief Johnson and Mr. & Mrs. Roger
B. Ottmann.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ottmann appeared before the Committee to
voice objection to placement of the "No Parking" signs recently
installed on Island Drive. They stated that the overhang of
bushes on the road had complicated the parking problem. Ald.
Penovich moved to direct Supt. Bertram to survey Island Drive in
relation to the existing bushes at entrance to Muskego Drive to
where the road eventually widens, and report back to the
Committee. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the request to replace a "No Through" sign
at the intersection of Parkland & Hedgewood which has
disappeared. The Committee directed Supt. Bertram to replace the
sign.
Due to parking congestion in Tess Corners, across the street from
Tess Corners Kitchen, a property owner is unable to get mail
delivery since her mail box is located in that vicinity. It was
suggested that the woman attempt to have her mail box relocated
further west so it will be made accessible to mail delivery
vehicle.
Following a discussion on the existing speed regulation on
Highway 24 between Durham & Bay Lane Road, the Committee
determined that a reduction in speed is not justified at this
time.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Harold L. Sanders
Secretary
