PSM19860505PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO isMINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 5, 1986 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Mayor Salentine, Ald. Hilt, Ald. DeAngelis, Chief Johnson, Greg Skobis, Terry Barnhardt, Gary Januszewski and Rick Kuckahn. Ald. Penovich was absent. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. A discussion was held on the condemnation portion of the minutes in regard to the Parmenter barn on Kelsey Drive. The Mayor reported that he had met with Mr. Parmenter and Mr. Parmenter is requesting that the Zoning Officer view the property and provide a list of required improvements. The Committee reviewed a letter to Mr. Anthony Zinski from Attorney Macy in regard to the parking of trucks on private property. The Committee recommended that the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee clarify the existing ordinance pertaining to the parking of trucks, trailers & equipment on private property. Ald. Taube moved to recommended that a "No Thru" sign be erected at the entrance to Fairfield Court to alleviate traffic into the related cul de sac by motorists who mistake Fairfield Ct. for Fairfield Drive. Seconded by Ald. Sanders, motion carried. After reviewing the parking problem on Ranch Drive & Martin Drive and the associated congestion on Summer weekends, it was recommended that the Parks & Recreation Board determine the adequacy of the present parking and review the launching fee to determine if there is justification for increasing the fee. The intent of the increase would be to alleviate overuse of the launch area. Following discussion of the turning lane at the northeast intersection of Highway 24 and Lannon Drive, the Committee asks that a letter be sent to the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation recommending that a "yield sign" be erected in order to establish a positive direction of right-of-way to traffic at the intersection. After reviewing the Board of Appeals request regarding the location of a proposed garage at S66 W18125 Muskego Drive, the Committee noted that the position of the garage on the plan submitted afforded good traffic visibility for ingress and egress from Hardtke Drive and the driveway exiting onto Hardtke was not considered a hazard. The Committee acknowledged a petition signed by seven residents of Island Drive requesting a "No Parking" sign be installed on is Island Drive. The Committee reviewed the Island Drive parking problem and recommended that "No Parking" signs be placed on both sides of Island Drive 110 ft. west of Muskego Drive. Public Safety Minutes - Page 2 May 5, 1986 ItThe Committee reviewed the progress of the correction of Code Violations at the Bayside Tavern and recommended that the Building Inspection Department approve the sewer connection to the above named establishment. The Committee recommended that the Building Inspector provide a report on the shed with a collapsed roof situated across Highway 24 from Sentry Store.
