able to plow the roads. Ald. Taube moved to refer this matter to
the Public Works Committee so they can review the condition of
the road and make recommendations on what improvements could be
made to remedy the parking situation. If it is not feasible to
upgrade the road after winter, "No Parking" signs are to be
posted on either side of the street. Seconded by Ald. Penovich,
motion carried.
Mr. Tom Wernette appeared before the Committee to request relief
from the double charging on his plumbing permit on the
construction of a home on W128 57110 Flintlock Trail. Ald.
Penovich moved to defer until the February meeting and requested
that the Building Inspector review the charges with the
Committee.
The Committee reviewed correspondence from Building Inspector Lee
• requesting authorization to proceed with condemnation orders for
razing of garage at S65 W18422 Ruby Drive. Ald. Taube moved to
approve the condemnation procedure. Seconded by Ald. Patterson,
motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the progress of the condemnation request
on W192 S7202 Hillside Drive (Olson).
A request for street lights on Hawthorne & Kipling was reviewed
by the Committee. Ald. Penovich moved to deny because the
request was initiated by a vandalism complaint rather than an
intersection safety problem. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion
carried. The Committee will request the Clerk's Office to obtain
cost information on purchase, installation and maintenance
charge, replacements, etc., on street lights.
The Firearms Ordinance was reviewed with Lt. Gifford. The
complaint of firearms being discharged too close to an existing
residence initiated Ald. Penovich to move to amend Section 3 of
Chapter 9.01 of the Municipal Code to change 250 ft. to 500 ft.
and add "or any other private dwelling". Seconded by Ald. Taube,
motion carried.
The Committee reviewed the correspondence of December 27, 1985
from Building Inspector Lee in regard to condemnation procedures
on S73 W16650 Janesville Road and placed on file.

• The Committee reviewed correspondence from Police Chief Johnson
asking for an additional 30 day extension on the traffic report
for Parkland Drive. The Committee authorized this extension
recognizing that icy conditions do not contribute to a speeding
problem.
The meeting adjourned at 8:37 P.M.
