PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 18, 1985
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taube at 8:15 P.M.
Also present were Committee Members Penovich and Patterson, Ald.
DeAngelis, Ald. Hilt, Sgt. Geiszler and those persons per the
attached list.
Ald. Taube reported on Hillside Drive proposed condemnation and
moved to defer until work is completed and reviewed by the
Building Inspector. Seconded by Ald. Penovich, motion carried.
The Committee discussed installing "Slow - Children" on Agate
Drive in order to reduce speeding. Ald. Taube moved to defer
until parents of deaf children in area are contacted to see if
they would be in favor of installing "Slow - Deaf Children" sign
on Agate. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried.
The Committee discussed naming cul-de-sac at the end of Kurtze
Lane. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend "Pellman Lane" as
. previously recommended by the Public Works Committee. Seconded
by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
The Committee acknowledged the access problem from Just -Stop -In
Tavern to Racine Avenue. Ald. Patterson moved to defer in order
to enable owner of tavern to alleviate the problem. Seconded by
Ald. Penovich, motion carried.
The Committee discussed re-evaluation of outside signs - Muskego
High School. Supt. Matheson will be contacted as to necessity of
signs. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend replacing the damaged
or removed parking signs on the south side of Woods Road west of
Racine Avenue. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried.
Ald. Patterson moved to defer business out of garage on Ruby
Drive due to lack of information. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion
carried.
The Committee discussed "No Parking" signs on Ruby Drive. Ald.
Taube moved to recommend taking down all "no parking" signs and
suggested parking all cars off road on gravel or grassy areas.
Residents were asked to refrain from calling the Police
Department in regards to this problem until gravel is placed and
signs are removed. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried.
Supt. Bertram will give advice to residents of area in regards to
placement of gravel. Residents will be notified to appear at
Public Safety meeting in December.
