PSM19841119PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19, 1984 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nilsson at 7:00 P.M. Also present was Committee Member Dumke and the people on the attached list. Ald. Hilt was absent. The Committee discussed the traffic problems on Muskego Drive. Ald. Nilsson moved that the Public Works Committee consider installing a flashing light on Muskego Drive. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Superintendent Bertram has obtained a quote from TAPCO with an approximate cost of $500.00 per light. The Committee discussed the "No Parking" request on Cornell Circle. Several people who reside on Cornell Circle attended and the discussion ranged from having no signs at all and allowing parking on both sides of the street to having "No Parking" signs installed on both sides of the street. Ald. Nilsson moved to have the Public Works Department install school crossing lines at the northerly corner of Cornell Circle and Durham Drive. These lines would run north to south on Cornell Circle and east to west on Durham Drive. A 15 mile an hour sign should also be installed to help slow traffic down. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The Committee discussed the status of the Tornado Warning System. Ald. Nilsson requested the City Clerk write to Mr. P. J. Hester, Alerting Communicators of America, notifying him that no money was allocated in the 1985 budget; therefore, any future consideration will be placed on hold. The Committee discussed a request for a utility light on Westwood Drive and St. Leonards Drive. Ald. Nilsson reported that he had studied the situation and moved to recommend the Public Works Department move the present light south approximately 100 yards to the intersection. Seconded by Ald.
