MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 6, 1984
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nilsson at
7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and Dumke,
Police Chief Scholz and those persons per the attached list.
The Committee discussed the Tornado Warning System. Mr. Paul
Petersen, President of Sun -Lighting Systems, and Mr. Paul J.
Hester, Sales Engineer, Alerting Communicators of America, were
in attendance at the invitation of the Committee. Mr. Petersen
of Sun -Lighting Systems suggested a 7th system for the South
Side. He gave a price of $72,982.00 plus an installation cost of
$1,500. to $2,000. for each system. Mr. Hester of Alerting
Communicators of America suggested a 12 system plus a 4 system.
The cost ranges from $78,820 to $126,156. Both systems are
designed to alert people who are outdoors only.
Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Fenzau appeared before the Committee. They
had previously written to Ald. Nilsson requesting "no parking" on
Cornell Circle. At the request of Chief Scholz, Ald. Nilsson
moved to recommend that the Police Department do a traffic check
on Cornell Circle. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. It
was also suggested that the Clerk mail an agenda to Mr. and Mrs.
• Fenzau for the October meeting at which time the Committee will
review the results of the traffic check.
The Committee discussed the request submitted by Lucille
Cardarella, along with a signed petition, for the installation of
a sidewalk on one side of Durham Drive. The committee will ask
Highway Superintendent Bertram to obtain a cost estimate for
storm sewer and sidewalks, along with a yellow line in the center
of the road, and report back to the Committee at the October
meeting.
The Committee discussed the condemnation request submitted by
Building Inspector Lee on a cottage addressed 5110 W20636 Denoon
Road. Ald. DeAngelis will contact Mr. Lee and discuss this
condemnation request.
The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 9:22 P.M.
