PSM19840809PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE — CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 9, 1984 • The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nilsson at 7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and Dumke, Alderman DeAngelis, Alderman Gaetzke, Mayor Salentine and Lt. Zabel. The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting. The Committee discussed the Tornado Warning System. The proposals received from the various disaster warning systems companies ranged from $78,820 to $126,156 for siren equipment only. The Safety Committee will pursue the feasibility of having a warning system and requested the Clerk to invite the two companies to appear at the next meeting to discuss the cost of each system. The Committee reviewed the noise complaint at Pick & Save. The Committee determined that Pick & Save has complied with the requests of the Committee. The Committee discussed the request for Lake Drive to become a one—way street or a stop sign installed at the intersection of Center Drive and Lake Drive. It. Zabel recommended that Lake Drive become a one—way street westbound and stated that he would check to see if the bushes on the intersection of Lake Drive and Center Drive are on city property. Ald. Hilt recommended to • Council that Lake Drive become a one—way street westbound from Lannon Drive to Center Drive. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. • The Committee discussed the traffic conditions on Old Loomis Road. Ald. Hilt requested the Clerk to write to Senator Lynn Adelman stating that the City feels the traffic speed limits on Old Loomis Road are appropriate and that the concerned constituents should contact their Alderman or the Safety Committee if they would like to discuss this matter further. The Committee discussed the recommendation of condemnation of the cottage at W191 S7216 Luehring Drive. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend that the cottage be razed. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. Ald. Hilt recommended that the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee review the parking problem on Ranch Drive and Martin Drive on weekends and holidays. Receipt of a petition requesting a sidewalk be installed on one side of Durham Drive was acknowledged. This request will be put on the Agenda for the September 13 meeting.
