• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 6, 1983
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman Colburn.
Also present were Committee Members Tomczyk and Nilsson, Mayor
Salentine, Ald. Penovich, Police Chief Scholz, Building Inspector
Lee, Mr. Estel Ellery, Mark Valdovinos, Jim Lorenz and Mr. Frank
10 DeAngelis.
The traffic problem on Bay Lane Drive was discussed by Mr. Valdovinos,
W163 57498 Bay Lane. He advised his mailbox had been hit numerous
times, his dog was struck by a car in his driveway and again just
recently a car again struck his mailbox and ruined approximately
100 feet of his yard ending up in Mr. Lorenz's yard. They suggest
that either warning signs about the curve in the road, guardrails,
street lighting, etc. to control the traffic accident problems.
The committee will survey the road conditions and continue discussion
at the next meeting.
Mr. Estel Ellery spoke in opposition to the 25 mph speed limit on
Bay Lane Drive from Bay Lane School south to Woods Road. Chairman
Colburn will discuss this matter with the School Board to find out
if they have any problem with increasing the speed limit.
Ald. Tomczyk discussed the "No Parking" signs which are missing
• from Garnet Drive. He requested the Dept. of Public Works replace
the "Dead End" and "No Parking" signs in that area.
The committee discussed the condemnation of the Bodenhagen property
on Loomis Drive with Gerald Lee. He gave a brief history of this
condemnation order. The committee requested Mr. Lee to proceed with
the attorney on this condemnation and also to advise Ald. Treba so
she may contact the property owner.
The matter of the traffic study on Kristin Drive was tabled.
Chairman Colburn reported on the status of the city's request for
traffic lights at the intersection of S.T.H. 24 and Lannon Drive.
He indicated he is waiting for a reply to his letter to the Dept.
of Transportation regarding his interpretation of their guidelines.
The matter of Dog Warden procedures for reporting to the Safety
Committee. Chief Scholz reviewed previous procedures that his
department used when dealing with the Dog Warden. The Safety
Committee will contact him and request that he appear at the next
meeting of the committee.
Communications and rescue reports were reviewed by the committee
and same placed on file.
