PSM19810903PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 3, 1981 The meeting was called to order at 7:08 P.M. by Chairman Knudsen. Also present were Committee Members Klenz and Steinberg, Ald. Penovic. and Police Chief Scholz. The minutes of the meeting held 6/25/81 were reviewed and placed on file. Ald. Knudsen suggested that Senator Adelman and Representative Rutkowski be invited to the next meeting of the committee to discuss problems on S.T.H. 24, such as its intersections with Tess Corners Drive, Durham Drive, Lakes Parkway and the speed limit in general. The committee agreed with Ald. Knudsen's suggestion. Police Chief Scholz discussed expenses incurred by Water Patrolman Warda for schooling received. Ald. Radtke's request for "No Parking" signs in the area of Muskego Drive and Hardtke Drive during the summer months was reviewed. The committee requests that since summer is over the request be presente, earlier in 1982. The committee discussed the Highway 24 speed limit between Lannon Drive and Bay Lane. Since a study has not been received from the Department of Transportation the matter will be discussed at the next meeting with state representatives. The committee reviewed a communication received from the Waukesha County Highway Commissioner indicating their department did a full inspection of the intersection of Racine Ave. and Williams Drive and it was felt there is no problem in that area. The communication also indicated project funds are very limited at this time, however, they would continue to observe the area. Ald. Knudsen moved a second letter be sent to Waukesha County requesting a turning lane. Seconds. by Ald. Steinberg. Motion carried. The committee discussed the intersection of S.T.H. 24 and Durham Dr. as far as heavy traffic, poor construction, poor visibility on the hill west of Durham Dr. Ald. Penovich appeared to request an acciden report for the intersections of Highway 24 and Durham and Highway 24 and Tess Corners Dr. Also, a report is requested for Durham Drive and Cornell Circle. Ald. Knudsen requested a letter be sent to Senator Adelman and Represenative Rutkowski regarding possible re- construction of S.T.H. 24 and Durham Drive. Mr. White of the State Highway Department may also be invited to the meeting. The problem of the curve on College Avenue and of mini bikes will be discussed at the next meeting. A communication from Waukesha County Highway Commissioner, Vince Demshar, was read. • Communications and reports were reviewed and placed on file. Ald. Steinberg moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald.
