• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 8, 1980
The meeting was called to order at 8:50 P.M. by Chairman Knudsen.
Also present were Committee Members Van Lanen and Steinberg, Aldermen
Dumke, Weed and Salentine, Mayor Gottfried and Chief Scholz.
• Discussion took place regarding the operating costs of the animal
warden's service and the services of H.A W E.S.
The Animal Warden, Pat Feldman, appeared along with Ruth Hough
and Gerri Nelson to discuss with the committee the procedures being
used by Mrs. Feldman and HAWS. Ald. Van Lanen moved to recommend
to the Common Council approval of a two-year contract between the
city and the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha, Inc. Seconded
by Ald. Knudsen. Motion carried.
• Chairman Knudsen discussed with the committee the status of the city's
request for traffic lights at the intersections of Lannon Drive and
S.T.H. 24 and Tess Corners Drive and S.T.H. 24.
The committee discussed at length their concern over the activities
• which occasionally take place outside of Granny's Tavern. The
• committee agreed unanimously to have Mayor Gottfried contact the
owner to advise her of the city's concern and to urge her to take
whatever steps are necessary to minimize the problems.
Ald. Steinberg requested the installation of a 4-way "stop" sign
at the intersection of Saroyan and Fennimore. The committee will
view the area and discuss the matter further at their next meeting.
Ald. Van Lanen moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Steinberg Motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 11:25 P.M.
