PSM19790314• PUBLIC SAFETY MEETING - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1979 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tomczyk at 7 10 P.M. Also present were Ald. Van Lanen, Ald. Pienkos, Mayor Gottfried, Ald Wallner, Lt. Zabel, Mrs. Jerri Nelson, Mrs. Sophie Hoppe, Mrs Janice Heckert and Mr. Wayne Salentine. Ald. Tomczyk apprised the committee that the proprietors of Parkland Mall a n d First National Bank of Waukesha agreed to comply with the wishes of. the Safety Committee regarding placement of stop signs at their entrance onto S. T. H. 24. The matter was referred to the Public Works Committee with the recommendation that they do the work and charge the businesses involved. Lt. Zabel reported on the situation at Daisy Lane and S. T. H. 24 Since it has been reported that the school bus company buses are still using Daisy Lane, Lt Zabel. will contact the bus company to notify them of the verbal agreement made at the last meeting, regarding this area The committee acknowledged the announcement that Ald. Schaumberg made at the March 13th Common Council meeting that Mr. Whitehouse, Muskego Humane Officer, had resigned. Mr. Whitehouse indicated that he would continue in his duties until a replacement has been found. • Ald. Van Lanen moved, seconded by Ald. Pienkos, that the Safety Committee will follow tr.e following procedures: 1. Accept the offer of the present Humane Officer to continue to use his services until a replacement can be found, 2. Send out a news release acknowledgirg the present Humane Officer's resignation advising anyone who might be interested that the Safety Committee is searching for a replacement. 3. Develop criteria which would be helpful in determining the qualifications of the replacement. Motion carried. Discussion took place regarding a survey of dog license fees (survey taken 1/16/79). Ald Van Lanen moved to refer the cat and dog license fee schedule to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee for possible adjustment. Seconded by Ald Tomczyk. Motion carried. Rescue reports from 2/l/79 to 2/12/79 were received and placed on file Correspondence from Building Inspection Department dated 2/20/79 and 3/2/79 were received and placed on file. • Mayor Gottfried will invite Mr. Jorgensen to the Public Safety Committee meeting on April 11, 1979.
