PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 23, 1978
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 7:10 P.M.
Also present were committee members Wallner and Pienkos, Mayor
Gottfried and approximately 80 people or more whose names appear on
the attached sheet.
Mayor Gottfried brought the committee and citizens present up to
date on the lake access at the end of Hillview Drive. A number of
people whose names appear on the attached list spoke regarding the
Hillview Drive access and the committee heard comments in favor of
and opposing the closing off of the street at the lake. The people
voicing their opinion in favor of the closing off of the street
cited reasons of safety, the need for additional "No Parking" signs
and requested police surveillance. The citizens who spoke as being
opposed to the closing of the access cited the right to use the
Hillview Dr. lake access because it is written within their deeds,
concern over what impact the closing would have on the lake dredging
and the affect on persons who have been using this access for
•several years. Mayor Gottfried summarized the meeting and advised
that a decision regarding this matter will be made at the next
meeting of the committee which is April 20, 1978.
The committee acknowledged Mr. Zinski's request and amended the
minutes of February 22, 1978 to state that the'residents on Hillview
Drive attended the meeting and not as members of the Hillview Assoc-
iation." Also, that "the Hillview Association plans to install its
own launch sometime after the frost melts, if the access is closed."
