PSM19780118• PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 18, 1978 The meeting was called to order at 7:08 P.M. by Chairman Schaumberg. Also present were Ald. Pienkos, Ald. Wallner, Mayor Gottfried and Chief Kraus. eDiscussion took place regarding plans for the extension of Moorland Road south from County Highway HI to Highway 24. The City of New Berlin and City of Muskego and County of Waukesha are now in the early stages of discussion to determine an acceptable route. That section has been placed on the Federal Safety Act which would indicate aids from the federal government and state government might be forthcoming in the future. Discussion took place regarding a community service award plaque for outstanding bravery or service to the community. Individuals would be honored before the Common Council with the presentation. The committee will consider what criteria would need to be established to give such an award. Input is welcome from interested persons regarding the matter. Discussion took place regarding awarding outgoing appointed and elected officials of the city when they are leaving their term of office. The committee welcomes input from members of the Common • Council. The committee felt that if the minutes of the Public Safety Committee felt that if the minutes of the Public Safety Committee meeting are approved that this would become an unwritten policy. The committee decided to table the matter regarding the need for a parttime snowmobile patrol. The minutes were reviewed and placed on file. The committee received and placed on file the Consolidated Monthly Analysis for the month of December, 1977. Tess Corners Rescue Service Report from Section 14th thru December 31st, 1977, were reviewed and placed on file. Humane Officer Reports from 11/1/77 thru 12/30/77 were reviewed and placed on file. Building Inspection correspondence from 12/15/77 to 1/18/78 was reviewed and placed on file. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wallner Motion carried.
