The meeting was called to order at 7:08 P.M. by Chairman Schaumberg.
Also present were Ald. Pienkos, Ald. Wallner, Mayor Gottfried and
Chief Kraus.
eDiscussion took place regarding plans for the extension of Moorland
Road south from County Highway HI to Highway 24. The City of New
Berlin and City of Muskego and County of Waukesha are now in the early
stages of discussion to determine an acceptable route. That section
has been placed on the Federal Safety Act which would indicate aids
from the federal government and state government might be forthcoming
in the future.
Discussion took place regarding a community service award plaque for
outstanding bravery or service to the community. Individuals would be
honored before the Common Council with the presentation. The committee
will consider what criteria would need to be established to give such
an award. Input is welcome from interested persons regarding the
matter.
Discussion took place regarding awarding outgoing appointed and
elected officials of the city when they are leaving their term of
office. The committee welcomes input from members of the Common
• Council. The committee felt that if the minutes of the Public
Safety Committee felt that if the minutes of the Public Safety
Committee meeting are approved that this would become an unwritten
policy.
The committee decided to table the matter regarding the need for a
parttime snowmobile patrol.
The minutes were reviewed and placed on file.
