MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 7, 1977
The meeting was called to order at 7:14 P.M. by Chairman Schaumberg. Alsc
present were Aldermen Wallner and Pienkos and Police Chief Kraus.
Discussion took place on inviting on inviting Vince Demshar, Waukesha
County Highway Commissioner, to the next meeting in January to discuss
extending Moorland Road south into Muskego. The committee requests Mayor
Gottfried to send a letter to Mr. Demshar to invite him to our January
meeting.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
Correspondence from Chief Kraus to Mr. Don Jorgenson regarding improve-
ment of a shoulder at the curve on S.T.H. 24 approximately three -fourths
of a mile west of County Trunk "Y" was reviewed and placed on file.
Discussion on amendments to Ordinance #337 regarding emergency alarm
systems took place. Revision of Sections 2 and 3 are requested to clarify
the definition of an alarm system and application requirements. Ald.
Pienkos moved, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, to refer this change in Ord-
inance #337 to Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee for consideration.
Motion carried unanimously.
The committee reviewed with Chief Kraus the proposed agreement with
Advanced Sound and Security Company for the security alarm system to
be installed in the new police building. The committee noted the
several recommended changes have been accepted by the company. Ald.
Wallner moved to recommend Council approval of the agreement between
the City of Muskego and the Advanced Sound and Security Company.
Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
Ald. Wallner moved, seconded by-Ald. Schaumberg, to recommend Council
approval of contract between the Muskego Volunteer Fire Company and the
City of Muskego for 1978. Motion carried unanimously.
Ald. Wallner moved, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, to recommend Council
approval of contract between the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department
and the City of Muskego for 1978. Motion carried unanimously.
Humane Officer reports from 10/1/77 to 10/31/77 were reviewed and placed
on file.
Building Inspection reports from 11/4/77 to 12/6/77 were reviewed and
placed on file.
Rescue reports from the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department from
9/5/77 to 10/31/77 were reviewed and placed on file.
Discussion took place regarding a community service award plaque for
outstanding bravery or service to the community. Individuals would
be honored before the Common Council with the presentation. Committee
will take action at their next meeting on the matter. Input is welcome
from interested persons regarding the matter.
Chief Kraus brought to the attention of the Safety Committee the need
for a parttime snowmobile patrol. Chief Kraus will conduct a study
to see the number of violations that are taking place and the need for
such a parttime patrol. Chief Kraus will report to the committee at the
next meeting.
Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Wallner. Motion carries
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
