PSM19771020• PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 20, 1977 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Schaumberg. Present were Aldermen Wallner and Pienkos and Police Chief Kraus. Discussion too place regarding the need for agends for the Safety Committee meetings. Ald. Pienkos voiced his objection to the fact that there was no agenda for Safety Committee meetings. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. The Kingston Drive parking problem on city -owned lots will be deferred until spring for future discussion. Communication received from Mr. Dan Jorgenson, Supervisor of State Highway Dept. indicating that the State will accept a 40 m.p.h. speed limit on S.T.H. 24 from Lannon Dr. to Bay Lane going both east and west. The Police Department investigation of the continuing problem of removal of "stop" signs in the area of Hi -View Acres Subdivision resulted in the folloiwing recommendation. Replacing three existing "stop" signs and replace with "yield" signs in the subdivision Retain "yield" sign at the northwest corner of Northview and Hi -View, install "yield" signs on Acker Drive westbound at intersection with Hi -View and north- bound at its intersection at Hi -View. Following discussion, Ald Wallner moved to recommend the above changes. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried Discussion followed regarding the placement of "stop" signs at the intersections of Pioneer Dr. and Riese Dr. and Pioneer Dr. and Kristin Dr. Also, the possibility of having a street light installed at the intersection of Pioneer Dr. and Riese Dr. Ald. Wallner moved to recommend to the Common Council the above mentioned traffic signs and street light. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Ald. Pienkos discussed with the committee a request from some con- stitutuents the feasibility of having Moorland Rd, extended to S T.H. 24. He advised the committee that Waukesha County Highway Commissioner Demshar stated that if the city wanted to consider this proposal to again contact his office. The matter was referred to Public Works Committee for further discussion. Mr. Tony Zinski, President of the Hillview Association, appeared before the committee to discuss a petition signed by 38 people living in the area of Hillview Dr. Mr. Zinski advised that the present lake access had originally belonged to the Hillview Association, however, the city acquired 25' as a reoad extension. The problem will be referred to the Common Council meeting of October 25th for their recommendation. Building Inspection Reports from 8/8/77 to 10/12/77 were placed on file. • Tess Corners Fire Dept. reports from 7/7/77 to 8/24/77 were placed on file. Tess Corners Rescue Reports from 9/l/77 to 9/26/77 and from 8/1/77 to 8/31/77 were reviewed and placed on file. Correspondence from Attorney Buckley regarding failure of installation of screening and landscaping on the Gary Couture property (Case n327-85) dated 9/13/77, was placed on file. Correspondence from Gerald Lee to Attorney Buckley, dated 9/6/77 was placed on file. Humane Officer Reports from 7/1/77 to 8/31/77 were placed on file. Ald. Wallner moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald.
