MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 19, 1977
•The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 7:05 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Colburn, Wallner and Pienkos, Lt. Scholz,
Mrs. Dorothy Van Lanen and Mrs. Jerri Nelson, Mrs. Jean Reidy, Ald.
Constantineau and Mayor Gottfried.
Mrs. Van Lanen and Mrs. Nelson appeared before the committee to
discuss information they had obtained during visits to surrounding
kennels and humane society.
In nearby communities, the cost for heating the facilities that
they visited was $42.00 (Franklin) for an insulated building. Ald.
Schaumberg stated that Mr. Whitehouse's facility could be heated
for much less.
Also, in other areas, Mrs. Jerri Nelson stated that distemper shots
are always given.
The committee requests the Deputy Clerk to gather any correspondence
that has been received from nearby communities regarding their humane
officer, fines, services, ordinances, etc. If none is available, the
committee askes that letters requesting such information be written
to nearby communities,
The committee discussed a copy og the dog wardents statement of
charges.
•The committee instructed the Police Department should issue citations
for unlicensed strays claimed by owners and XQT Mx, Wh-.tehouse to require
licensing of claimed stray dogs,
The Public Safety Committee referred to Finance Committee the schedule
of payment for the humane officer,
The committee received correspondence from the State Highway Department
saying that a "Muskego" sign could not be erected in Hales Corners.
Correspondence from the humane officer was received for the month of
November and placed on file.
The police department annual report for 1976 was received and placed
on file.
Tess Corners Fire Department reports were received and placed from
12/16/76 to 12/31/76.
Rescue Reports were received and placed on file from 12/2/76 to 12/19/76.
Correspondence from the Building Inspection Department was received
and placed on file from January 7, 1977 to January 11, 1977.
Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion
• carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
